Most of the plastic bags used today have already come from recycled waste but in their new form they are no longer an acceptable recyclable product. This has meant that vast amounts are being dumped in landfills.

In New Zealand alone we throw out the equivalent of one bag daily per person for nearly every person living in New Zealand! That's equivalent to 900 tons of needless waste per month going to landfills.
